This product is intended to make the clear coat of older cars look 60-90% better. We recommend using this product in the following ways:

a. Only on the exterior of a vehicle

b. On panels that are between 50- 90°F

c. In environments of less than 90% humidity

d. In a well-ventilated area

e. While wearing gloves / masks / PPE

f. Keeping vehicle dry for 24 hours after applying

g. Practice on a small panel of a car first before doing an entire vehicle.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prep / Wash

  • Cleaning/Prep is key. Wash the area you're going to be applying the product on with water and/or detailing spray.
  • For best results, wipe the area with Wax and Grease Remover. Clay Bar for additional prep.
  • Make sure the area is dry before application.
  • Practice on small section of a panel before applying to remainder of vehicle.

2. Application

  • Shake bottle with the cap on.
  • Remove the seal beneath the cap.
  • Apply product to a folded shop towel or micro applicator. Be sure to put enough product on the towel to keep a wet edge throughout your entire panel. We recommend keeping the bottle handy – if your towel starts to get dry during application, apply a bit more to keep the towel wet.
  • Start at the top corner of the panel to allow excess product to drip down the panel.
  • Hold the towel with a flat hand. Using light pressure, glide edge to edge on the panel. Go back and forth, overlapping the edges of your lines. Evenly disperse the product across the panel. If you miss a spot in the first 2-3 minutes, take a full, gentle line back through that area. Ensure that you don't miss any spots, but don't go over a spot that you've done more than needed.
  • You will have a 2-3 minute window to work with. DO NOT go back over an area after that time period.

*** Please note, if there is a significant mistake made in the application of your coating and you need to remove it – stripping the coating is much easier within 15 minutes of initial application. If you need to remove the application in that 15 minute window, we recommend scrubbing the coating with Wax and Grease Remover. If you need to remove the coating after it has already cured, you will need to wet sand/heavy cut with a rotary/elbow grease with a heavy solvent. This is a long-lasting coating.

3. Curing / After-Care

  • The application needs 24 hours to cure. Do Not touch the area or let the area get wet for at least 24 hours after application. Once the application is cured, you will have a long-lasting coating. Note that the more product you put on, the longer it will take to cure.
  • You are able to hand wash the vehicle 48 hours after application. We recommend you DO NOT take the vehicle through an automatic car wash after application. Auto washes are already known to scratch regular clear coat, so they can do the same with this coating on.

Common Mistakes

Streak lines: This can be caused by too many overlapping passes on the same area in direct sunlight or applying in a random, obscure motion. Make sure you go in straight lines and try not to go over an area more than once. Be sure to keep a wet edge on your application towel.

Rainbowing or Excessive Low Spots: The main cause of this is NOT USING ENOUGH PRODUCT. Be sure you have enough on your towel. Using too much/uneven pressure when applying is another issue to avoid here. Try to apply with light, even pressure throughout the panel.

Fish Eyes / Solvent Pops: To avoid this issue of pops in the paint, just make sure to not let the area get wet /wait for 24 hours and wait 24 hours for the first layer to cure before applying any more.

Dirt Nibs: To avoid specs of dirt in the coat, the first step of cleaning/prepping the area is KEY. If you have dirt in your finished result, you likely did not prep well enough.
