Why is International Shipping so expensive?

We empathize with the cost and appreciate each and every one of our international clients for investing in us and our products.

There is an additional dangerous goods fee that is associated with the shipping expense and that is why. We are working on negotiating with our carrier, FedEx on giving us lower rates at the moment.

Do I Need to Clean My Vehicle Before Applying?

Cleaning/Prep is key. Wash the area you're going to be applying the product on with water and/or detailing spray. For best results, wipe the area with Wax and Grease Remover. Clay Bar for additional prep. Make sure the area is dry before application.

Can the Coating Get Wet? What If It Rains?

It's important to not let the area get wet for 24 hours after application. If you know that it's going to be raining in the next 24 hours, we recommend applying on your vehicle in a well-ventilated garage or indoor area. You are able to hand wash the vehicle 48 hours after application.

How Long Do I Need to Let the Application Cure?

The application needs 48 hours to fully cure. Do Not let the area get wet or put anything on the area for at least 24 hours after application. Once the application is cured, you will have a long-lasting coating. Note that the more product you put on, the longer it will take to cure.

Is This Meant For Base Coat?

Shiny Car Stuff is meant for clear coat, not base coat.

How Long Will the Coating Last?

The longevity of the product depends on many different factors (wear and tear, environment and how the car is taken care of and washed). You are able to put this product on considerably thick to achieve a depth of coating that will last very long if taken care of.

Can I Wash My Vehicle After Application?

You are able to hand wash the vehicle 48 hours after application. We recommend you DO NOT take the vehicle through an automatic car wash after application. Auto washes are already known to scratch regular clear coat, so they can do the same with this coating on.

How Many Vehicles Can Be Done With 1 Bottle?

We estimate approximately for an 8 oz bottle to cover 1-3 average-sized vehicles. However, the larger the car/the more damage/the thicker the coat you apply, the more product it will take.

What If I Miss a Spot

If you miss a spot in the first 2-3 minutes, take a full, gentle line back through that area. Ensure that you don't miss any spots, but don't go over a spot that you've done more than needed. You will have a 2-3 minute window to work with. DO NOT go back over an area after that time period.

How Do I Remove SCS?

If there is a significant mistake made in the application of your coating and you need to remove it – stripping the coating is much easier within 15 minutes of initial application. If you need to remove the application in that 15 minute window, we recommend scrubbing the coating with Wax and Grease Remover. Then you can return to Step 2 to re-apply Shiny Car Stuff.

If you need to remove the coating after it has already begun curing, we recommend wet-sanding the area with 3000-5000 grit sandpaper. Then you can go back to Step 1 to clean and then re-apply Shiny Car Stuff. A 2nd coating after sanding usually removes most imperfections.

What Do I Do If I Mess Up the Application?

If there is a significant mistake made in the application of your coating and you need to remove it – stripping the coating is much easier within 15 minutes of initial application. If you need to remove the application in that 15 minute window, we recommend scrubbing the coating with Wax and Grease Remover. If you need to remove the coating after it has already cured, you will need to wet sand/heavy cut with a rotary/elbow grease with a heavy solvent. This is a long-lasting coating.

How Much Product Should I Use?

Be sure to put enough product on your towel to keep a wet edge throughout your entire panel. We recommend keeping the bottle handy – if your towel starts to get dry during application, apply a bit more to keep the towel wet.

Use light pressure with a flat hand, gliding edge to edge. Keep a wet edge on your towel when applying.

Shiny Car Stuff can enhance the appearance and protection of chipping/peeling clear coat. We recommend getting the area wet before purchasing and seeing if you like the look – the result of Shiny Car Stuff will look similar to a wet panel but with more gloss and depth.

Will This Cover Every Scratch and Blemish?

Shiny Car Stuff does a great job of penetrating and covering/filling scratches. The product is designed clear coat damage, not deep gashes and damage that goes down into the base coat. We estimate the product to improve the cosmetic appearance of your coat by 60-90%.
